Professional Profile

Educational Philosophy:

As an educator, I strongly believe that my role is to partner with parents to support them as they endeavor to teach and train-up their child/children. Working within this partnership, I hope to engage young learners in meaningful learning that takes place in a variety of settings. I deeply desire to see all learners discover their strengths, and develop a love for learning about God’s world and their role in it.

Educational Interests:

I am passionate about helping learners recognize God’s design in creation and his plans for humanity. The spiritual formation of a child is of great interest to me and my training in Teaching For Transformation (TFT) has greatly equipped me to offer learners an education that is enriched by a Christian perspective.

Instructional Specialties:

I love helping students develop an appreciation for literature and writing. I enjoy challenging students to explore how culture, race, media, politics, government and justice are factors that shape our individual and collective identities.

Academic disciplines that fall into the category of humanities (English/ LA, Social Studies) are my instructional specialties. I am prepared to assist students in all grade levels with these subjects and am qualified to support students in all elementary subjects/studies.

I have training and experience in working with students who have special needs and/or learning disabilities as well.

Areas I Do Not Cover:

High school math and science
