Staff Profile: Becky Kui

Educational Philosophy:

Learning can happen anywhere and everywhere and each child learns differently. Whether you desire a traditional, more structured approach or wish to have your child "unschool", I see great value and benefits in many approaches, learning environments and home learning styles. As a former classroom teacher and home-educating mother, I draw from my knowledge and experience in both worlds of education, endeavouring to provide each family I support with a unique educational plan tailored to their families lifestyle, goals and values. As a partner in your child's learning, I will be at your disposal as you seek to provide your child with a rich education and to help them thrive as a learner!

I believe learning should be engaging, not painstaking. I love inviting children to learn through play, games, projects, nature, literature, hands-on learning, and out in the real world. Fostering a love for learning and uncovering your child's gifts and potential are what we will strive for together, while also ensuring your child is on track and covering the essential topics and content appropriate to their level of learning.

Educational Interests:

Outdoor learning, Christian education, literature-based learning, cross-curricular studies, multi-aged learning.

Instructional Specialties:

I am comfortable supporting families for a variety of courses in elementary education. Course specialties include English, Social Studies, Bible and Science. 

Areas I Do Not Cover:

High school courses, second languages

Communication Style Preference:

I most often communicate with families using a combination of email and Zoom video calls.

I can be reached by email Monday - Friday. For families who wish to meet regularly over Zoom, I offer scheduled bi-weekly or monthly sessions.

Hours of Availability:

I am available to answer emails Monday - Friday.

Zoom Sessions or phone calls can be arranged for weekdays after 3:30PM.
