Professional Profile
Works with Students in Grades: |
Grades: K-9 |
Educational Philosophy: |
I believe all students deserve the opportunity to find a learning path that works for them. In particular, I focus on a learner’s interests and their learning needs in terms of self-regulation to find what works best for them. When a student is able to stay calm, focused and regulated, learning occurs more easily and enjoyably. I strive to be evidence-based, to create a safe space for learning and to make the educational experience fun. |
Educational Interests: |
I have primarily taught Kindergarten through to Grade 5 students in French Immersion for the past 12 years. As such, I have particularly enjoyed the creative outlet of art and language my experience has offered. I am also a huge fan of self-regulation tools and strategies to help develop and strengthen the abilities and skills needed to learn most effectively. |
Instructional Specialties |
French as a second language, cross-curricular curriculum (especially embedding Science and Socials into English or French Language Arts), and self-regulation. |
