Grade 8 Course Options

Subject matter is integrated when possible. There is a high level of individualization available for these courses and a wide range of curriculum options.

Grade 8 Students must take English, math, socials, science, career, PE, a second language, plus one elective.

English

English at the elementary grades is focused on building a solid foundation of skills while helping students find enjoyment in reading and writing.

Math

Students can choose from a wide variety of curricula in these individualized courses. Here are just a few examples:

Socials

Socials courses are highly individualized utilizing a wide variety of curricula.  Often families choose a curriculum that can be customized across multiple grade levels for use within their entire family group.

Students can choose from a wide variety of curricula in these individualized courses. Here are just a few examples:

Medley

The medley tab combines these required non-core subjects into a single tab.  Career and PE are individualized to develop skills along the lines of students’ personal interests and goals.

Electives

Students in Grade 8 select one elective.  Elective courses are individualized to develop skills along the lines of students’ personal interests and goals.
