Cross-disciplinary and Interdisciplinary Arts (Cross Arts)

Media Arts 12 In this individualized course, students will pursue their personal interests while refining their artistic expression using a variety of image sources and genres.  Students will explore how media arts are an essential element of culture and reveal insights into the human experience.  Students will consider ethical, moral, and legal considerations.  Resources will be carefully selected to meet the students needs and course goals.   4 Credits
     
Musical Theatre 12

In this individualized course, students will pursue their dramatic interests.  Students will explore how ideas and beliefs conveyed in a musical theatre production can effect change.  Resources will be carefully selected to meet the students needs and course goals.  Students taking this course must be involved in a local musical theatre, including practice and performance, and will explore how musical theatre is informed by history, culture, and values.

Dance Foundations 12

In this individualized course students will pursue their personal interests while pursuing technical and creative proficiency in dance.  Students will explore how the skills and processes of dance education are transferable to a variety of contexts and how they are connected to history and culture.  Resources and third-party services will be carefully selected to meet the student needs and goals.

Drama

Theatre Company 12

In this individualized course, students will pursue their dramatic interests while exploring how artists can communicate ideas, challenge opinions, and inspire change.  Students will explore how their experience in theatre is transferable to personal and professional contexts.  Resources and third-party services will be carefully selected to meet the student needs and goals.  Students taking this course must be involved in a local theatre company, including practice and performance.

Choral Music 12

Students in this course can select from a variety of choral music activities that accommodate their interests and abilities. Students in this course should be involved in local choral music and are expected to participate in performances. Additionally, students will complete written or verbal theory assignments to share their learning on music related topics.

Composition & Production 12

In this individualized course, students will pursue their musical interests while exploring how composition and production can be adapted to facilitate limitless expression and meaning.  Students will make purposeful choices that enhance the quality and authenticity of musical processes and will learn how hardware and software are used to create, record, and structure sound.  Resources and third-party services will be carefully selected to meet the student needs and goals.

Students in this course can select from a variety of instrumental music activities that accommodate their interests and abilities. Students in this course are expected to participate in performances. Additionally, students will complete written or verbal theory assignments to share their learning on music related topics.

Art Studio 12

Students in this course will select a variety of artistic pursuits, utilizing different mediums (drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, mixed media, digital art, etc.) to explore that accommodate their interests and abilities. Resources and 3rd Party lessons will be carefully selected to meet the students needs and course goals. Student will complete theory assignments to share their learning on art related topics. as well as produce and share a final virtual art show.

Photography 12 (Great Courses)

Students will explore Photography 12 using lessons from Fundamentals of Photography II. The lessons will provide instruction on advanced skills and techniques. Students will then use the techniques to take photographs and improve their skills. Students will be encouraged to utilize skills developed in previous learning, in addition to new techniques, to achieve the desired results, as well as to be patient with the design process.

Students in this course will select a variety of 2D artistic pursuits (drawing, painting, ink printing, etc.) to explore that accommodate their interests and abilities. Resources and 3rd Party lessons will be carefully selected to meet the students needs and course goals. Student will complete theory assignments to share their learning on art related topics. as well as produce and share a final virtual art show.
