Media Arts 11

In this individualized course students will pursue their personal interests and represent self, identity, and culture through art, culminating in a final art show. Students taking this course will explore digital media compliance requirements and the process of creating media art from image-making technology such as cameras, props, and lighting. Resources and third-party services will be carefully selected to meet the students needs and goals.

Media Arts 11

Digital Painting

Taught by Jerry Stanley

Students will develop a solid foundation in digital drawing and painting. They will learn the theory of traditional art techniques and then progress to learning the software and techniques specific to digital art. The tutorials use Photoshop but Krita is highly recommended as it is free and the workflow is very similar so it is very easy to use the same skills demonstrated in the tutorials. Although a digital drawing tablet is not required to take this course, it is HIGHLY recommended. After completing this course students may choose to extend their skills with Media Arts 12 - 2D Animation.

Musical Theatre 11

In this individualized course students will pursue their personal dramatic interests while participating in a musical theatre group. Resources will be carefully selected to meet the students needs and goals. Students taking this course must be involved in a local musical theatre, including practice and performance, and will explore how musical theatre can effect change.

Dance Foundations 11

In this individualized course students will pursue their personal interests while growing as a dancer and choreographer. Students will learn about the ethics of cultural appropriation. Resources and third-party services will be carefully selected to meet the students needs and goals.

Drama

Theatre Company 11 In this individualized course students will pursue their personal dramatic interests while participating in a theatre group. Resources will be carefully selected to meet the students needs and goals. Students will explore character development and the roles and responsibilities in a theatre company. Students taking this course must be involved in a local theatre company, including practice and performance. 4 Credits

Music

Choral Music 11

Students in this course can select from a variety of coral music activities that accommodate their interests and abilities. Students in this course should be involved in local choral music and are expected to participate in performances. Additionally students will complete written or verbal theory assignments to share their learning on music related topics.

Composition and Production 11

In this individualized course students will pursue their personal musical interests to create, produce, reproduce, or manipulate music using available technologies. Students will explore the physics and physical properties of sound and sound synthesis. Resources will be carefully selected to meet the students needs and goals.

 Composition and Production 11

Digital / Movie Focus

Taught by Jerry Stanley

In this course students will learn about the world of digital audio editing and digital music production with a strong link to movie production. They will begin by learning methods of mixing digital audio sources, then look at recording audio, followed by producing music digitally. The main software used will be Reaper and Davinci Resolve, both of which are industry level and free.

Instrumental Music 11

Students in this course can select from a variety of instrumental music activities that accommodate their interests and abilities. Students in this course are expected to participate in performances. Additionally students will complete written or verbal theory assignments to share their learning on music related topics.

Visual Arts

Art Studio 11

Students in this course will select a variety of artistic pursuits, exploring different mediums (drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, mixed media, digital art, etc) that accommodate their interests and abilities. Resources and 3rd-Party lessons will be will be carefully selected to meet the students needs and course goals. Students will complete theory assignments to share their learning on art related topics and will produce and share a final virtual art show.

Photography 11

Students will explore Photography 11 using lessons from the second half of Fundamentals of Photography. The lessons will provide instruction on more advanced skills and techniques. Students will then use the techniques to take photographs and improve their skills. Students will be encouraged to experiment to achieved the desired results, as well as to be patient with the design process.

Studio Arts 2D 11

Students in this course will select a variety of 2D artistic pursuits (drawing, painting, ink printing, etc) to explore that accommodate their interests and abilities. Resources and 3rd-Party lessons will be will be carefully selected to meet the students needs and course goals. Students will complete theory assignments to share their learning on art related topics. as well as produce and share a final virtual art show.
